A person may have talent, intelligence, and many abilities, but without goals, they can end up lost, using their energy on anything, following any path, or being carried away by any influence. Without goals, we are like a feather in the wind: we move, but we do not necessarily move forward. Goals give direction to life. They help us know where we want to go, which decisions bring us closer to that future, and which things can pull us away from it. If we do not know where we are going, any road may seem useful, but not every road takes us to the place where we truly want to be.
